Daybook 4

FOR TODAY

Outside my window
... Grey clouds  interspersed with some blue, all set off by a perfect Autumn wind complete with flying russet leaves.

I am thinking... of how lovely my few days off have been!

I am thankful... for my job, yet again, that affords me that ever-important, rare commodity-time!

In the kitchen...is a slow-cooker full of sausages, potato and onion. Autumn comfort food!

I am wearing... Layers! Wool is involved, as is a black furry hat with cat ears on top..

I am creating...Christmas ornaments with felt-yes really!

I am going...to get my hair trimmed and styled today. It's long, which I love, but needs a bit of shape again.

I am wondering... Where Shaun and I should go on our date-night tomorrow?

I am reading... "The Guernsey Literary and Potato-Peel Pie Society". A book club book, I'm about 1/2 way through. Interesting!

I am hoping... to get to grips with what foods agree with me and which do not-awaiting my food intolerance test results back any day!

I am looking forward to... the next few months and all the fun it will bring!

I am learning...to calm down and stop shouting at my children so often. Hard. Ingrained in me from childhood.

Around the house...Lots of things to be lofted, or cleared out, or organised. A bit of organized chaos in the bedrooms with piles and bags of things...hmm..

I am pondering....when the day will come again that I get enough sleep each night? When my children leave school??

A favorite quote for today...
"In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening -- no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air."

-Alexander Smith

One of my favorite things...Hazelnut coffee with vanilla steamed milk, courtesy of my husband!

A few plans for the rest of the week... Clearing out, chores, crafts, early nights.

A peek into my day... Fruit tea, preserving plans, knitting, craft plans, cooking.

I'd love to get enough sleep at night, but it's not because of my children, it's my dog! I hope you have a better night.
